This is awesome. A while back it seemed I was spending a lot of time in texas and thought maybe I should Spanish, haha.

Thought the same, so many opportunities to practice and being half Hispanic most Mexican drivers start talking to me in Spanish right away haha.
Google maps will also show construction sites and accidents if you click on traffic.
MyRadar is a great weather app...and predictive too!!...we check it to see where we're going next, because it seems that if there is even just one storm system in the country, that's where we'll head next! LOL

Forget about that one, been lucky to drive through a lot of dry areas and even twitter can be helpful, I like following the dot from different states.
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
Operating While Intoxicated
Just one i like to use because i like to know what's ahead.
I actually deleted MyRadar because I had an old weather app from near home that works ten times better all over the place. The radar is a ton more accurate too.
I LOVE the Transflo app! Unless I have more than about 6 pages, I never use the germy Transflo scanners at the truck stop. Just take a few pics, enter some info, and BOOM, paperwork is done!

Ahh the lovely typos meant to say forgot haha. Saying forget made me sound like a jerk. I use that app as well haha.

Swift has an app so I do all my paperwork through its haven't had to do it the old fashioned way once haha.
Some good apps. I use Trucker Path Others Rest Stops......click on a state, click on the road you want, click on your direction and get all rest stops with some info. Just a little quicker then Trucker Path sometimes. Cat scale, Pilot, Loves, etc. Your Bank if they have an App can be helpful on the road
A network of over 1,500 certified truck scales across the U.S. and Canada found primarily at truck stops. CAT scales are by far the most trustworthy scales out there.
In fact, CAT Scale offers an unconditional Guarantee:
“If you get an overweight fine from the state after our scale showed your legal, we will immediately check our scale. If our scale is wrong, we will reimburse you for the fine. If our scale is correct, a representative of CAT Scale Company will appear in court with the driver as a witness”

The smart phone is definitely making life a lot easier and can be used for so many good things here are some apps I reccomend and I am pretty sure most of you will know the first two.
Google maps - this app is a life saver. I use it to see where I am going, what backing situation I am getting myself into, and also compare the route from the qc to the map to see if it is possible. This saved me in Stockton the other day because the qc route was going to send me to a dead end. It has also helped me when a shipper/receiver is hidden in the back of all kinds of other warehouses, Denver tends to be set up like this.
Trucker path - Tells you where the truckstops are, the parking status, and gives reviews of the place. Nice to use when trip planning and just when you are out in the middle of nowhere needing a place to stop.
Audible - wasn't a fan of audio books at first, but they have grown on me. If I am going to listen to something it might as well teach me something. I enjoy listening to them now and have learned so much
Duo Lingo - this is a language learning app that is more like a game. It covers most European languages and a few odd ones. Been using it for a few days and I am amazed by all the Spanish I know. Great up around it my whole life, yet never learned it. Languages are actually a passion of mine and there are quite a bit I want to learn.
Every Dollar - this is a budgeting app made by Dave ramsey, this can be especially helpful to those who are like me and swipe the debit card too much. It is also set up to work on the total money makeover plan providing all the baby steps. This especially helpful for me as I mature into a responsible adult.
Shipper:
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
HOS:
Hours Of Service
HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
