Well, running hard and pushing and making appointments on time has finally paid off! I talked to my dispatcher (who is cool as heck) into a little something special.

We will be attending the Great American Truck Show in Dallas at the end of this month! Two days of nothing but trucks, trucking seminars, and hanging out with other drivers.

All of our dates worked out perfectly for this as far as needing to go home for a day. It's over a week later so it's no big deal.

But needless to say, we are super excited! It's not only a cool truck show, but an educational trade show. We will get the opportunity to learn more about the industry and how to be better at what we do!

And the best part? I'm going to get to meet AK! Plus have breakfast with a big group of other drivers I've become friends with through Twitter

But the important question right now is: who wants pictures?

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

That's awesome to hear! That's always been one of our keys to happiness and success out there - prove yourself to be a top tier driver and stick with the company for a while and you'll get all kinds of miles, special perks, and opportunities other drivers will never even know existed. Awesome job!

And we definitely want pictures!

Hey ChickieMonster,

Have you already done the free online registration for GATS? It's $10 at the door if you wait until the day of the event.

I'm sure you know this info and already have. I just wanted to pass along the info just in case.

Hey CM you and Mr. Monster will have a blast. I have gone in years past (twice), but cannot this year, remaining vacation time is spoken for so I can meet my new Grand Daughter in October. Sooo...any pictures would be awesome.

Thanks!

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Ok I'm having some issues with posting photos. I guess it's my phone but I can only post one at a time bc it refreshes this page every time I navigate away.

Would a link to my photobucket work for y'all? I can put all the truck show photos in a special album. Plus you can see tons of pics from the road.

Or if there is a better hosting site y'all know of let me know. Photobucket has gone stir crazy with the amount of pop up ads lately.
