Been off the logs for a while now. Was talking today and can't remember.
After you reset do you need to carry the last 7/8 days or just the reset and after?
Thanks
Just stopping in to ask a question? Busy busy!
A 10 hr reset clears your daily clocks, that's it.
34 hours off resets the whole enchilada, including the recap deal of 70 hours in 8 days. 34 hours off gets you tanned, rested, and ready to roll.
I'm not sure you answered his question, Errol. I believe he might be asking how long you have to maintain paper logs if your electronic logging machine fails.
If I'm remembering right, it's 7 days after your electronic logs are working again. But I'd hold onto them for 8, just to be sure.
I do not know if this is different from purely paper logging.

How you been my friend!? I run local now since last September. Average 12-16 hours a day and no log needed.
But we were talking today.
We have Saturday's and Sunday's off.
If we're to keep a log from Monday to Friday then we have Saturday and Sunday off.
Come Monday the only thing I need in my possession is Saturday Sunday and Monday? Or do I need From last Tuesday?
I thought it was only Saturday and Sunday showing my 34 hours off and then Monday or whatever day it is after... But a friend of mine was sayin Noooo. And now I'm wondering myself... Maybe I am wrong. But we are also 60 in 7 and he says were 70 in 8 but we don't work 7 days a week...

I start and return to the same place everyday and stay within a 100 mile radius. My employer keeps track of our hours. And we don't work over 12 hours a day.
That last parts a lie ;)

But I think you did answer the question. The last 7 days. It doesn't show an exception for the amount of days just the amount of miles and hours =<12...
So on Monday it would be the last 7 days even though there was a reset on the weekend.

You must have the last 7 days plus the current day at all times, reset or not.
I thought it strange that you were asking about how long is a reset. Oh, I'm the one who's strange!
This is most probably a CYA situation. Saves a lot of discussion, <100 miles local, M-F gig and all, to have your logs from the past week handy, as all these other guys say. If you are in a CMV , the cop is going to ask for logs.
You might try the KeepTruckin app. Legal logs on your cellphone. The app can email the logs to the officer if needed, and you can edit previous day's work. 🙄
A CMV is a vehicle that is used as part of a business, is involved in interstate commerce, and may fit any of these descriptions:
