That's so awesome! Also that truck is sweet! Gets me excited for school at the end of the year! Persistence Pays.

I'd like to add something else to the discussion that Brett started... Trucking companies need to rethink their advertising. I have read several topics now and seen the adds myself claiming how much money a trucker/trainer can make. These figures aren't exactly lying but they are only the partial truth as most have discovered.

So what kind of person are they trying to attract then... someone who wants to make the big money but not realizing what is involved. Personally, I view money as a byproduct of what I do and not as the primary reason why I do something. Just another thought to mull over.

Rainy, that was really cool what you did for MM making that call. Daniel B. Did the same thing for me and it helped my situation in training.

I just bit my tongue to get though training quick as possible. After I proved myself as a solo dtiver. I talked to my DM face to face about my training experience. He told me that my trainer had abandoned his truck while in process of training someone. So I guess that one worked itself out.

Just wanted to give you props for looking out for a driver in need.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

What a spirited and lively conversation! Glad I could help contribute to your efforts Brett. It's not a problem that will go away overnight, but I think in the future it will be better than it is right now.
