Actually I heard a driver talking about something similar today. He said that a Louisiana State Trooper asked him for his long form. I always thought we just had to carry the medical card, and that the long form is protected by HIPAA. This driver said the trooper asked for it and when the driver reached for it the trooper said he doesn't need to see it. The driver said that the trooper informed him Louisiana requires you to carry the long form.
I haven't had a chance to look through the FMSCR yet, but it was interesting to hear that.
That's a good point. There is personal information on the long form that I would think would be protected.

I recently had my DOT physical to get my permit. While reading another thread I realized I did not receive a card to carry with me. I went back to the Ambucare that did the physical to ask about it and she informed me that the top page of what they had given me (4pages) is what I am supposed to keep with me saying the laws had recently changed. Then she said some states require me to carry the entire report. I would think this would be something that would be federal and consistent in all states, but I know when it comes to laws common sence does not always apply lol.
I just didn't get the feeling that she was 100% sure of what she was saying. Anyone know for sure? I'm know they should have the answer to this when I start training but was just curious and thought I might bring it up for others that are just getting started like me.
