I started looking into j Rayl transport out of ohio and they don't look bad. They offer guaranteed weekly pay and home weekends for everyone. If you want to stay out you can otherwise your home on weekends. Has anyone heard of this company or perhaps drives for them I would appreciate some insight.

May Trucking is another one that comes to mind with the weekly pay guarantee.

Are there any kind of strings attached to the guaranteed pay?

Yup there is. At West Side Transport you must:

  • Be available to drive at least 5 days out of the 7 day work week
  • Be on time for deliveries and pickups (if breakdowns etc occur just communicate justifiable delays and it's not a problem)
  • Utilize your time well to maximize your miles.. I.e. no excessive breaks (like a 15 hour break when a 10 will do unless of course you have a layover because of dispatched loads.

In other words, be willing to work and available and if unavoidable delays occur, let dispatch know so they can repower the load or get the appointment time changed. Easy peasy.

Any situation where there is guaranteed pay means they expect you to earn your keep, and they have a plan to keep you busy. Slackers will be cut loose if they expect to be making all the money but not putting in the effort.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

I certainly understand that and want to get as many miles as possible so I earn my keep. Thanks Sue D. And Old School
