Turns out the trucking business is not for me. Got my feet wet. Gave it all I had, but it's just not for me. Respect to those who can do this job. Definitely will look at you guys with respect you deserve. I Salute You!,

Well that's a bummer! You didn't give it very long but we know this business certainly isn't for everyone. We sure like to see people hang in there for 6 - 12 months and get past the hardest parts before making any permanent decisions but we certainly wish you the best of luck in your next endeavor!

Sorry to hear it Dallas. I'm actually having a blast. Even the fd up stuff is kind of fun for me. Then again I always did like being in trouble. LOL

Dallas good luck in whatever you do in the future. I respect a person who is decisive, shows character and knowing yourself. Kudos for having the courage to let us know.

If at all possible don't let your CDL and medical certification lapse. You may at some point have a change of heart and give it another try. Many people on this forum left the industry only to come back to it years later due to a variety of circumstances.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
