Swift shortage? The Lancaster terminal (Dallas /Fort Worth ) is kind of like a black hole. Once they suck you in, they don't want to let you go. LOL

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Where is their a Swift shortage?

My exact thoughts haha. The same happened for me in Wyoming before too had to take a load really late because no one else could take it and the place I took it to tried to service failed me, but I had evidence on the qualcomm that kept it from happening. Either way I am excited to drive into new areas haha.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

Lake Coeur D'alene in ID is so far my favorite. If I could pull over with a tent, kayak and a few fishing rods for about a week I could be happy for the rest of the year. Well... till striper season in November around the Chesapeake bay... I missed it last year and I gotta make up for it this year.

SAP:

Don't remind me! I got stuck in Texas for a week and a half several weeks ago! Had a few 275 mile loads with 3 days on them........ no early delivery! I thought I would never get out of there!!

I spent a week there when my truck broke down. When I finally got a different truck, I called in on Saturday to see if I could get a new load. 'Nope, nothing til Monday probably, sorry. Oh wait, you're on the 636 fleet? Let me send an email.' Boom, preplan showed up within 30 minutes and I was out of there.

Sounds like me and lathrop haha. The cool part is I am familiar with the planners over there now. I am glad to be away from California.

The East isn't bad at all, until you get into the Northeast. I actually love running the Midwestern/eastern area I've been running lately. Lots more beautiful scenery than Wyoming ever had to offer haha

I love Wyoming. In fact, I'm parked in Lusk WY now. Went through Hartville WY this afternoon, population 62, and very proud to be the oldest incorporated town in Wyoming still in existence. I plan to retire somewhere in Wyoming - maybe in Hartville! My wife can visit for birthdays and holidays, if that's how it has to be.

As far as I know there ISN'T a Pleasant Prairie, MI. Do you perhaps mean WI or MN?

I'm in Rolla MO, left Fayetteville AR this morning and I'm headed for Pleasant Prairie MI. Never heard of it, not only that, I didn't think they had prairies in MI. LOL

Oooops, yeah it's WI. On a side note, has anyone ever had their Qualcomm switch to on duty all by itself? Mine did it this morning. I never touched it. The next thing I know, I'm in OD status. It did again a few minutes ago. I still have enough on my 14 to finish this load but im kind of screwed for later this afternoon. LOL

Our qualcomm will power up by itself when they are checking up on us and we are parked.
