I spent the morning driving on So Cal freeways. I was governed at about 4 mph!
I personally don't rally mind being governed at 62mph. If I need additional passing speed I can bypass the limiter and get myself past whatever impedes my forward progress. I just wish they would consider leveling the playing field and place similar limits on cars and light trucks. I witnessed a 4-wheeler doing 82 in a 40mph cattle-chute yesterday. It had one of those portable radar guns with a display. Totally ludicrous.
How do you do this? I don't mind being governed at 65 but it would be nice to be able to actually pass another truck going 64 1/2. I either have to go slower behind said driver or I have to spend 5 miles to pass.
Your truck may not be set up the same,...by tapping the throttle twice to the floor, in succession, the governor is overridden. I can use up to 30 minutes per day in this mode.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
That's what you call it, "turtle drag race"!! I just busted out laughing in the middle of a restaurant, alone starring at my phone. I'm always unsure if I should slow down when I'm in the right lane when this happens. Hey folks, been a while since I posted. Hope all's well! Thanks for the laugh!
Not to mention the road rage it will cause when a 4 wheeler is stuck behind 2 trucks doing the turtle drag race for 8 miles on the interstate.

If your the one being passed, by all means the pole thing to do would be to slow down a little to let the other drive pass you faster. It doesn't really cost you much time and makes things easier for everyone.
If another truck is passing me, I bump off the cruise control and let them pass. I have nothing to gain by keeping up my neck breaking 62 MPH when being passed by a 63 MPH Truck. Plenty of drivers will have this ****ing contest for MILES while traffic backs up in the left lane. Not worth it, besides, I HATE travelling next to another vehicle for any length of time, 4 or 18 wheels!
****ing rhymes with kissing! Didn't know the bad word filter would bleep that one!
Miracleofmagick, You bring up a good point. Thanks for the sound advice.
makes things easier for everyone

He's a smart man. Thanks.

I agree, but that would only work if the speed limits are relatively close for cars and trucks. 62mph in an 80mph makes obstacles out of trucks, and I heard recently that Texas was talking about raising the interstate speed limit to 90mph.
How about we just treat reckless drivers like the children they resemble...abuse the privilege, lose the privilege. The worse the abuse, the longer the loss.
