Paul, I forgot to include the fact that this lady trucker is a company driver. Another story she told me was a day before in her turn at the simulator. Ron Presley is the chief of safety at the Memphis terminal , and runs the simulator.

Her simulator part was to turn right in a tight city street. But she continued straight any way! Ron stopped the test and asked why she didn't turn. Now Ron's another one of those old "you'll be 5th wheel grease soon" type guys, but the lady just told him, "I tell my students that if they can't make this kind of turn, continue along and figure a better route." Case closed.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
