My experience has been that some companies will work with you having one ticket 15 over the limit. But be prepared for many to not accept it at all. I have 2 of them from 2014 and have been turned down by almost every carrier out there except by Western Express, Trans Am and Swift.
That ticket may only be for speeding but companies look at it as reckless driving which I have found out will hurt you tremendously in this industry. Good luck in your search.
Buddy, things like that happen, don't they? I got my first speeding ticket in over 20 years (15 over), two months before I even decided to go to truck school. At the time I applied for Knight and for Swift. Knight said wait for a year after the ticket. Swift said "Come on down!" And I did.
It all depends on the company you apply to. So the best deal is to Apply For Truck Driving Jobs shotgun style.
If I am in HR making a hiring decision. I would put the OP and Errol at the front of the line. 1st ticket in years, no pattern of speeding or reckless. These guys will probably be the LEAST likely to get another citation and will be VERY CAREFUL drivers! Just my $.02

I just got a ticket for 15 over. I don't currently have my CDL but do take my test this coming up Friday. I've not had any tickets in the past 8 years. I do plan to fight the ticket to see if I can get it reduced to something else. Bit if i don't beat it or get it reduced how bad will this hurt me for getting hired by a company?
