Anyone know where the prime z building lower level conference room is? Or if anyone is even working tomorrow Monday Labor Day. Attempting to upgrade running into closed labs and conflicting times

To get to the Z building take an immediate right when you go in the doors from the shuttle. Follow that hallway upstairs a bit then you walk out into an atrium. The door on the other side of the atrium is it. If you go down that hallway you'll find a receptionist. Just ask her. I do know a lot of ppl are working tomorrow.

What lab is closedoing? The sim lab? There should be somebody there tomorrow, new students were arriving as I left today.

Good.luck!

Computer lab and sim lab. And they couldn't tell me if any of the classes I needed to attend would actually be held. I figure I will just show up and find out. Worst come to worst I'm delayed a day. Nothing else I can do

It's not a one day thing to upgrade. If they are bringing in a class for orientation they won't let you in the computer room. You can use the sim lab computers for the CBTs. I know people who did them from the hotel room thru wifi, but some were told they had to retake them cause they want cameras on you to prove u were trainered.

You need to do the "prime certified safety class" formerly the Smith class..you watch movies then go on sim. After that they make you do one backing test on sim. This is usually first thing in the morning and lasts til about 1pm and you get free lunch and $100 for completing it. U can use the certificate to lower your car insurance.

There are optional classes for company drivers in both reefer and flatbed, but they were being held on Tuesday and Wednesday at campus inn and a log class at campus as well. If you can't make it to the elogs you can go talk to Wendy in logs behind driver line up. She is super sweet and will give u the time to explain things to u.

After u do that you go to success leasing and they give you a briefing about the rigmasters, then assign your truck. Then you inspect your truck from top to bottom and document any issues to prove you didn't do it. Turn in your paperwork and then they make necessary repairs and then you have to go buy all the load locks and chains and stuff which you can't do until you have a truck number.

It's going to take a couple days to do all that.

I figure that. Already did the safety class yesterday. I'm just trying to get out of here Friday morning at the latest. Being in flat bed division if it takes any longer I will be waiting till next Monday for a load.

Hey Maniac, welcome to to your new career - Hurry up and wait!

Congratulations man, you are going to love that flat-bed gig. Don't worry about it, you've got a lifetime ahead of you, there's no big deal if you have to wait a few days to get this thing started. One thing about this job is that it is always unpredictable, you might as well get accustomed to a crazy schedule now, because it just became your whole lifestyle. smile.gif

I guess you do have a point there. I just hate to be forced to have a day off. Lol. If my old boss heard that he'd be rolling on the floor. I have enjoyed flat bed tremendously so far. We will see how I feel in February but hey

You might get out of there Thursday (at the earliest) to Monday or even Tuesday. Most of it depends on how quickly they correct any defects you find on your truck. Get your classes done. The longest part of the wait is having your truck assigned, inspecting it, getting any defects fixed by the shop, then getting your equipment on the truck. Then you're waiting for a load.

If you can get all that done by Thursday afternoon or Friday morning, you have a good chance of getting out of there before the weekend. Otherwise you'll be waitng for a load off the yard or a Monday load.
