Well I made it back to Springfield to test for my CDL and go into the TNT phase of my training Monday or Tuesday. When we got in my trainer took me to the pad to spend about 4 hours working on more backing for the test and were going to spend 4-6 more hours tomorrow doing the same thing. I have been studying the pre-trip and feel really comfortable on the driving part so I'm really hoping I come through with the trifecta.
The training PSD phase was a good experience and I had a patient and good trainer. He spent a lot of time perfecting everything I know. (Well trying to anyway). Hopefully my next post I will have passed the skills part of the test and be in the TNT phase. More updates coming soon.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
So after a long busy last few days I was finally able to test this morning. I wasn't allowed to test Monday as planned as it hasn't been 14 days since my permit was issued. So me and my instructor used the extra time to practice.
I finally tested this morning and am so excited that I got the trifecta!!!! That and today being my birthday was kind of like a present to myself. So after going back to the millennium building and doing paperwork to become an official employee of Prime I am back at the campus inn awaiting a flatbed TNT trainer. I will be sure to post more updates as I can.

No problem and I will for sure post more updates as they come. I am still at the Campus Inn waiting on a flatbed PSD. Can't complain though it hasn't been too long. Hopefully this weekend I will hear from one.
Yes I do need to update my avatar soon haha.

Just a quick update on my training. I am in my third week now of TNT about the 11,000 mile mark. All has been pretty good. I feel like overall I have an outstanding trainer. He is a lease operator and a million miler with the company here in the flatbed division. He has been teaching me a lot more than expected. I am learning securement, safe driving, all the basics. He is even teaching me things like truckstop etiquette and staying safe while on the road. We have a gps in the truck which we use however he pulls out the map and has me trip plan before we even enter anything into the GPS because he is still kind of old school and I feel that's a good thing.
I have had some tough challenging moments like a 6 stop load that had to be tarped and untarped at each stop lol but he said that kind of stuff don't happen too often. Overall I am enjoying my time here at Prime and can't wait to finish the other half of my training and go back and upgrade. I will try and update a little more as I have the time too.

Just another quick update on the TNT training. It's really starting to fly by I am in 4th week now so it's a little over halfway over for me. I'm learning a lot about the flatbed securement and a lot of other things. My training is going a little slower as we're not really getting miles for some reason. I think our biggest week was 3800 miles and we're a team truck so that's a little concerning for when I go solo. My trainer is great but with that being said I may have to bite the bullet and request a new one when we get routed through Springfield in the next couple of days to take care of some things. I mean we're doing flatbed and going 6-8 days between showers is just completely unaceptable to me especially with the few miles we're actually running. I'm not trying to complain or sound like a like Diva but something has to give. It's just embarrassing going in anywhere wondering if people can smell me. That's all for now I will update again whenever possible.

I estimated my work history. Assuming they would get the true info and that would be acceptable. Now im worried they may think i lied. Husband says they are just concerned with license problems and if you're a felon. Do you think that would be a problem? The work history? I have no license or legal problems.

Sorry for the late update... I have been very busy with my PSD instructor. Saturday we left Missouri for Wyoming since then we have been to Nebraska and Kansas. We are currently shut down for the night on the way to Illinois.
Everything has been going pretty good. I have a good instructor I believe. I have done a lot of driving and pretty much all of the backing up to this point. The plan is to take me into Springfield this weekend so that I can test out next Tuesday to begin my TNT phase as Missouri only requires you have your permit for 14 days before you test.
I am seeing a lot of the PSD students now not having to do the full 10000 miles of this phase as long as they are ready to test at 14 days. So I'm not sure. I have driven before in the past but let my CDL lapse so I have to redo the training. I do know the TNT phase though I will be required to do the full 30,000 miles.
Well that's all I have for tonight and I will update again soon.
