CRST has a good school in Cedar Rapids.. right behind my company's terminal.
Just know their contract.. Be sure you are comnitted to completing it and read it carefully before you sign it, because if you dont, no other company can or will touch you. Also they require teaming and are at the lower end of the pay scale.
But if their offerings suit your personal needs like home time, benefits, etc and you dont want to pay out of pocket for cdl school, a company sponsored school is a good way to go.
I went to a private cdl school vut if i had to choose a company school i probably would have attempted to go to Roehl or Prime, but thats just my personal preference. Roehl has a school in Atlanta btw.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Perhaps a better question for you to answer for us is: "why did you decide on CRST?" What if any, were your other choices?
It's all about what you want for your first employer, what is it about CRST that meets your needs as a student driver?
CRST does have faster trucks lol.. I think most are at 70-72 mph, but i wouldnt choose based on truck speed.
