In Virginia, your CDL Learner's Permit (CLP) is only valid for 120 days.
My CLP (issued 02 Sep 16) expires 29 Jan 17.
I'm not suggesting that you rush your decision, just be advised that you may have to ask for an extension or retest if you don't finish training before your Permit expires.
Finally: Congratulations on passing the exams!

Well, it's official. I went and took my physical today and I signed on the dotted line with a company. I start school on Monday. I'll be in school for a month, then I'll start driving. I'll be with a trainer for a month or so. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have not been in a school setting for over 25 years. It's going to be a shock to the system for sure!

Well I have been thinking about a new career. About 4 years now that I've been thinking about this. So yesterday I made the choice, I took a quick look over my CDL book, the one that I have had since 2014. Went down to the DMV and asked to take a couple of the tests. I did NOT read all of the sections of this book. EVER! Also I have done little bits and pieces with CDL practice tests. I asked the DMV agent I just wanted to take a few of the tests. He said, "What you pass, you pass. and what you don't, you don't. You can take them again tomorrow. You get up to 5 times to take them." Well I wont need 5 times to take them. I passed all 3 tests. I may go back and take the hazmat. So now I have my CDL permit. I have a few logs on the fire for my next move. I will keep everyone posted.
