Curiously I am guessing that you already have your class A then? This doesn't really need to go in the ladies forum but not like any of us will mind. What kind of trucking are you looking getting into for tractor trailer?
Sounds like you need class a experience. If you have your class A cdl already then youll probably have to attend school again without the final testing or at a minimum a refresher course and company training either way.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Look into refresher courses or specialized training at a community college or private driving school. They might offer a training class so you can get some experience with tractor trailers. Maybe a day course? You have all the road experience - judgment, stopping distance, attention, safety, etc. just not the equipment experience.

Not sure where this topic should go, but as a lady driver, was wondering if anyone knew what the process might be to advance from driving super 14 dump truck, to tractor trailer? Though I have 10 wheel, 14 and 16 wheel dump trucking experience, all local, seems most companies want recent tractor trailer experience of a minimum or 3 mos, 6 mos, or a year otr. Any ideas what I can do, or will I need ot enroll all over again in a school? Everything about my cdl and dot physical card is current, but.....?
