Owner Operators can have whatever they want in their trucks...BUT there are shippers AND receivers who don't allow dogs...we've bumped into them. They told us to leave our dog tied by the road...in 105 degree heat...we told them they could find their crap dumped on a empty lot in town....45 miles away. Needless to say, they allowed the dog in.( a Sheltie, for goodness sake...like she was gonna rob the gold mine we were delivering to). And we've had shippers kick us out, for having a dog, that we NEVER let out of the truck on shippers or receivers property....It can be a challenge.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

Owner Operator:

An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.

Hi Paul,I too have been researching pet friendly companies as I want to drive truck but have "kids" I can not leave behind. I have heard about Prime as well, but I also just found out about Werner; they allow any size/any breed AND they have a training program. I am strongly considering them. Just wanted to share that info with you. Hope it was helpful. And GOOD LUCK!! Debbie
