Well dropped the load of Yams in American Falls, inroute to pick up in Sugar City Id. Then routing to the nain Prime depot to test. Route will run us over the Teton Pass.

Not sure which has me more worried, the test, or the drive.

Feel pretty confident on the driving test, short of any really bone head move ( which i still make ), fairly confidant on all parts of pre trip, backing up.... real shakey there. Not enough practice...

When you get back to prime you will probably spend about four hours on the pad for two days. Ask him for reference points. If he has no clue what you are talking about take the prime shuttle to prime east and ask for "David rich or Anthony" to show you the points while others are backing. The day I was there David was training new trainers the points. Go to the testing pad at millennium and watch others. Look at which point they turn their wheel.

To pass the test there are.specific reference points.,..real world backing is completely different.

PSD:

Prime Student Driver

Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.

The following is from Prime's website:

Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.

Obtain CDL Permit / 4 Days

  • Enter program, study and test for Missouri CDL permit.
  • Start driving/training at Prime Training Center in Springfield, Missouri.
  • Work toward 40,000 training dispatched miles (minimum) with food allowance while without CDL (Food allowance is paid back with future earnings).

On-the-Road Instruction / 10,000 Miles

  • Train with experienced certified CDL instructor for 3-4 weeks in a real world environment.
  • Get 75 hours of behind-the-wheel time with one-on-one student/instructor ratio.
  • Earn 10,000 miles toward total 40,000 miles needed.

What's a trifecta?

Prime's driving test consists of three parts. If you pass all three parts on the first attempt you've scored the much coveted "trifecta."

Your trainer gets a hefty bonus when you run the table like that. If I'm not mistaken Larry will get some extra money also, but the trainer's take is considerably more.
