I drive for them. They are a great company. If you've ever seen a con way truck, that belongs to Xpo.

If its truckload, then its full size dry van for now. We did by another company that has reefer but no idea if we will start pulling reefs.

I'm earning better miles each week, and just heard we are about to get a lot more. Home time is the same as most, one day for every seven out, but our home time isn't capped. Most places make you give up your truck if you take more than four, but not us.

Dry Van:

A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.

Reefer:

A refrigerated trailer.

Thanks for the positive feedback Sam. My wife and I are starting a 3 week private school at the end of the month. We have completed the Dot and permit thus far. We have spoken with XPO, Werner and Schneider about teams. XPO starting pay is the best of the three and the Joplin location is the closest for training. The only advantage Werner has is they train in teams, versus 3 or 4 weeks splitting us up. I keep telling myself to look at the big picture though.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Donnie, I know it sucks being away from your wife. I have had to live that life. Can't wait until she can go to school at the beginning of the year. One big picture bonus of you two having separate trainers is having two learning references when you two are driving. So if your trainer isn't as strong in teaching something, and hers is, she can help you. Just a thought.

Jason, XPO runs just about all of the lower 48 and Canada.

You have to have a permit before you get started. They then bring you to Joplin for the drug test. If you are going to the student program, they will send you to school. If you went to school on your on, you will go through orientation. Bring your receipt for school. They reimburse up to $4,000, spread out over a year.
