He isn't showering either though. Why bank them and not use them?

My problem isn't time. The issue is we have to fuel up enough to earn the shower credits to shower 2 people. Apparently my trainer picked me up with no shower credits available.

Sgt - there's something "fishy" about that scenario. Here's the facts: You'll get a shower credit each time you fuel. You can get a "team" shower with only one shower credit. And just for clarification, a team shower provides you with a private shower room for each of you.

My point precisely!

As time goes by you'll realize that he's not exactly shooting straight with you.

I certainly don't know why.

The only thing I can be sure of is that showering doesn't seem to be high on his agenda right now.

Just curious, is he a lease operator?

I found something Better than baby wipes... The brand name is ASSURANCE in a blue package. They are in the depends aisle with other home health care products. The cloths are.much thicker and larger than baby wipes and last a long time. I get 96 packs but they come larger as well.

Just curious what is diamond status and shower power mean. Are those top notch places u can shower?

Wow, that sucks. My trainer said he makes all his students take one at LEAST every other day or they are off his truck. I take one almost every day. I try to stop at a loves(diamond status) or flying j (shower power) for my 30 min. DOT crap and take one.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Not sure about Love's but Shower Power is through Pilot and Flying J. If you fuel so many gallons per month (used to be 500, I guess it went up to 1000 but I haven't seen that), then you get a free shower per day. You automatically get a shower credit each time you fuel, as long as it's 50 gallons or more. I always have a minimum of 4 credits on my card, but I always have shower power so I never touch the credits.

Loves uses "diamond" and I think its up to 1500 gallons per month now. Diamond also gives you free drink refills free tire pass where the mechanics (or whomever) come out and check your tire pressure while you fuel. I think they increase your points accumulation as well... So instead of one point earned per gallon...you get say four pts per gallon. You can use the points to buy food and products in the store. TA/Petri let's you use the points via a coupon in the restaurants.

Every few.months loves gives me diamond status as a promotion ...even. Though I didn't earn it. Kinda like "well give you some extras if you like then you will come back".

In my TNT phase now and this hit home. Tomorrow is our 8th day without a shower so yea I feel your pain. My PSD phase was the same way. One shower a week so it's a hard adjustment. Hopefully these next few weeks fly by so I can get my own truck and hopefully shower regularly lol.

PSD:

Prime Student Driver

Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.

The following is from Prime's website:

Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.

Obtain CDL Permit / 4 Days

  • Enter program, study and test for Missouri CDL permit.
  • Start driving/training at Prime Training Center in Springfield, Missouri.
  • Work toward 40,000 training dispatched miles (minimum) with food allowance while without CDL (Food allowance is paid back with future earnings).

On-the-Road Instruction / 10,000 Miles

  • Train with experienced certified CDL instructor for 3-4 weeks in a real world environment.
  • Get 75 hours of behind-the-wheel time with one-on-one student/instructor ratio.
  • Earn 10,000 miles toward total 40,000 miles needed.

TNT:

Trainer-N-Trainee

Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.

The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.

The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
