Hmm. I must be the ONLY driver who actually sets the cruise to 55 then!

Nope, I do too. The law is the law. Here's the problem though. In California, it seems you could be ticketed either way.

Most of the time I'm in california...more like 90% of the time, I see that trucks never do the speed limit. Usually they do between 60 and 65mph. They are always blowing by me, to the point where I've questioned whether or not the speed limits were even enforced. However, not wanting to risk a ticket, I do 55.

The issue here is that, if an officer wanted, they could probably ticket you for impeding traffic for going 55, or they could write you a speeding ticket for going over that. What do you do? Lol

I figure if I'm in the slow lane going 58 mph and being overtaken by 99% of the traffic, I am the last driver, Truck or otherwise on CHP's list for a speeding ticket. Plus, if I am ticketed for 58 in a 55, I will see what I am getting for the $7.00 per week that I pay for US Legal!

I do 55 in California too! Let a cop try to write me a ticket for "impeding traffic" while doing the set speed limit for trucks... I'd much rather explain that one to Prime than one for speeding.

What do you do? Go 55 lol. I doubt they would give a ticket for impeding traffic, especially since CA often has designated truck lanes. But if they did, I'd just take it to court. No way it'll stick.

I believe the minimum speed limit in California is 45 but it's not posted. There is an impeding traffic statute but you aren't going to get it for 55. That said I set my cruise at 59, I'm such a rebel. LOL

My truck is allergic to California. It's the darndest thing but if I get within 2 miles of the state line, she hits the brakes and heads for the shoulder.

I am here picking up in the LA area, and I am so sick of the a-hole drivers! Hard enough to navigate without being familiar with the area without people refusing to let you over when you've had the blinker on. Had an idiot rush up on my left, get over in front of me with about 10 feet between his bumper and mine and then get off the highway to the right. There was a whole right lane free beside me, but he HAD to pull that stunt. Ugh.... Heading to Denver with this load, and judging from the talk on here, that won't be any better. LOL
