Errol, you went above and beyond. You know I'm grateful.
I'm at the terminal nearly every day now. The only "above and beyond" part was finding the recruiting office. It's behind an unmarked door, you have to knock and get someone to come over and open it. Even then I didn't know where the recruiters were. I had to break down and ask someone.
You'd never know that office was theirs!
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Thank you. You know, when my husband was out there, the first 3 months, he was having such a rough time of it. Out there alone not knowing diddly squat. I told him the get on trucker truth. I took my own advise i guess. And look at the results. Errol, you went above and beyond. You know I'm grateful.
Congratulations. There are lots of "eggs" in this world, Errol happens to be one of the better ones!

Happy ending. Got an application filled out thanks to TT and Errol. Now the rest is up to me. I'm so ready to go.
Congrats! You're very lucky, Errol is usually mean to people and dispenses bad advice.
Shameful... LOL
Thank you brett for the videos on how to manage on this website. Couldnt find my way back. Want to say didnt get to swift, somehow the recruiter thought i had a cdl. I only have the permit. Moving on.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Last week i wrote to the Memphis recruiter that I was moving to Indiana, gave him the address, and asked him very nicely if he could check said address to make sure the Memphis school will take me. He said I can go to the Indiana school. I think he's the only recruiter over there and I don't want to deal with him again. Ok, I will when I have to. So, my husband's coming home for Thanksgiving. My plan was get an apt. or p.o.box around Memphis. He didn't make it home. So one last ditch effort with the local career resource center. Maybe they can help me get into this local driving school. Also, they (career source) work with TDI where 2 of the trainers, from the Ocala Swift terminal , went to teach after Ocala closed their school. One school is 2 hrs east of me towards Orlando, a 2nd school is 2:15 up towards St. Augustine. If i have the chance I will take that one. A 3rd school is up around the pan handle. Just babbling. Trying to stay busy and positive. TT is keeping me sane. Just realized, I know nothing about this school. Back to the drawing board to do the research. Anyone been there, done that? I'd appreciate any input. If I thought that there'd be a chance I would go to school I would've paid more attention! Well, when life keeps throwing you boomerangs...

Forgot to mention that I did apply at one company. I called too soon and they had no information for me. Then trying not to be a pain, I let a week go by. Then another week. By then I didn't want to hear the rejection, but I did want to know why. So I waited for a letter in the mail. Nothing. Kind of knocks the confidence down a notch. Plus it's making me think maybe there's a reason, I'm not seeing, for swift rejecting my availability. Well, chin up, I'll keep trying. And keep studying. I'll be ready if the day does come.
Nancy, I go to the Swift terminal nearly every day. (But you knew that.)
If you want, I'll go to the recruiting office and ask what you need to do.
Email me with any particulars.
