Well today was day one of orientation at CalArk. All we did today was take drug screens, physicals and a road and backing test. Pretty simplistic, ran around LR for a bit, then simply showed we could back the truck between two trailers, anyway we wanted. It was a LW ProStar, which was interesting for me as I have never been in a LW or a ProStar.

So far, I am very impressed with everything I have seen. We haven't met many people, but those we have are super nice. There are 4 people in class, and I'm the only CalArk driver. The other three will be working for Central Hauling, CalArk's L/O division. I was asked one time if I was 100% sure I was going company and that was it.

We are being given lunch each day and $10 gift cards to the Cracker Barrel across from the hotel (which is awesome by me!). There's also a Walmart across the street, so I picked up some snacks and breakfast (the continental breakfast at the hotel isn't very appetizing, but no big deal.)

Only bad thing so far, I have to go directly home after training because MO won't allow them to update my med card in their system. I have to physically go to the DMV and give them the new one. But at least I get to see hubby earlier than expected!

Congratulations, I also had drug and alcohol test today but mine was random. They did look at me kind of funny when I told I wish I'd had more time to study. Best of luck on your new adventure.

Heck, I'd go just for the $10 CB gift card :)

I know right!! I've been living high on the hog the last three nights! Hubby and I have been trying to find a CB near a truck stop for the last three months. Needless to say, he's a little jealous!

Well orientation is over, I am officially hired, have my badge and fuel cards, and am on my trainers truck. We are at the Little Rock yard, leaving out for Lake Village AR in the morning to load for Houston.

From there we are deadheading to Laredo to get this trailer down there. It's been sold down to Mexico.

I am sooooo excited to get back on the road!

Congrats! I'm going to be in Allen (Dallas) this morning, then heading down to Ft. Worth and then up to Tulsa, OK. Look for the crazy guy with his face pressed up against the window haha

Nevermind...I just looked at the map and realized we won't be anywhere near each other. But now you know what to look for next time haha
