I was going to drop my trailer at a local truckstop and bobtail to my house for an overnight, but just in case I called the local police. They said no trucks, trailer or not, in residential areas unless delivering, and in no case overnight.
Surprised me, but I'm glad I checked.
Good thing there are rarely any cops passing by our place
Yah! Unfortunately for me, I live right off an access road to a golf course, and there is pretty heavy traffic, including police.
Living in Billings, MT means I'm only a couple miles from a nice truck stop though, and I could leave my rig in our terminal here, but its on the opposite side of town...still only about 15 minutes away in this part of the country.
Bobtail:
"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.
Terminal:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
It is cool bringing home the truck. And you got to make that mature mans day. That's even cooler. Like the picture. I guess it won't fit in the garage.
