Does anyone know of any schools that I could check into that will give me a second chance I failed my airbrake test at the Academy

Im a little confused.. So you failed the written exams for your permit or did you fail your skills tests for your cdl?

Basically whichever you failed just retake the test.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Which "Academy"? Which "air brakes test" - the written or the in-cab/pre-trip one?

You should be able to re-take EITHER TEST. Missing a step on the in-cab pre-trip air brakes test is an INSTANT FAIL. Some places make you re-take the ENTIRE PRE-TRIP, some only require you to re-take the in-cab portion.
