I'm reading about Jim Palmer Trucking. It's almost word for word. I read that they are "family" companies but are they one and the same? Are there 300 trucks each? or is that combined? Hmmm

Allie Knight (You Tube page) drives and is the recruiting poster girl for Palmer now. She's not driving much recently (desk job) but you might look through her videos.

Chickiemonster has been seen paling around with Allie. rofl-2.gif

Anyone out there been to Canada thru North Dakota? Are there truck stops in Canada? A walmart? Havent checked yet but im thinking trucker path doesnt go up that far.

If you're traveling to Canada from ND, you'll either cross into Manitoba, or Saskatchewan.

There are truck stops in Canada, but there aren't a lot of full service ones. That is to say, many are places to fuel and park without much more in the way of amenities. Though I'd expect that SK and MB are similar to ND in respect to number and services. Trucker Path does cover Canada.

There is more than one Walmart in Canada. Locations

Canada has a population smaller than the state of California - although it's comparable. Much like California the majority of the population is either on the border or on the coast(s). Only in the case of Canada the coasts (at least where the people are) are small, and the border is very long. Basically, the people of Canada concentrate in cities near the border with the USA.

As Michael S. said, there are truck stops in Canada. There is even a Flying J in Saskatoon, and a bunch of Flying Js between Edmonton and Calgary on Highway 2. There are also Petros up there, but I'm not sure all of them take shower credits from the UltraOne card. The other truck stops may or may not have all the amenities, which is common in rural areas in the US anyway.

One thing I would advise is changing some US cash to Canadian at the border. There is a fee of course, but it came in pretty handy a few times when I was there. Plus they have $1 and $2 coins, which are fun.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

You don't need to worry about changing your US dollars to CA almost everywhere will take either. And your cards will work up here no problem.

There isn't the problem for parking like I hear people down south describe often and all the hi ways have pit stop places you can park up but with little to nothing around you in the way of stores etc.

And you can drive longer hours north of the border so you know.

Thats good, no $$ problems. Thanks so much. And you probably need more hours for the stretch between places eh? The weather looks good. My weather bug doesn't extend up there. Do you have an app you use i can tell him about?
