Hi all. I live in Rockport, Texas. Live close to Corpus Christi. Have been trying to figure out what terminals are in Corpus as I'd like to work is my home base. Found one for SVTN bit, no luck on others. All considerations will be greatly appreciated.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Having a company terminal near by is a luxury, not a necessity. The company I work for has only 1 terminal. It is in Amherst, WI. I live in TN. Being near shipping lanes is far more important. Especially if you live in a place that your company ships freight into and out of regularly.

Welcome Sir! When you are looking at a trucking company's web site there will usually be a map somewhere that shows their "hiring area." That just simply means that they are hauling freight in those states, and therefore they can get drivers home in and around those areas. I have usually lived at least a thousand miles away from my company's nearest terminal. As long as you are in their hiring area, they should be a good prospect for you.

Here's a link where you can Apply For Truck Driving Jobs. If you scroll down that page a little you will find a place where you can enter your zip code and it will show you the various companies who are hiring from your area.

Make sure and check out our Truck Driver's Career Guide. You will learn a lot just by reading through that material.

You must be around my Son's age (32). He used to love that show when he was a kid! I had forgotten about that! At my age, I forget LOTS of things!

Close, but I am a little older. I am 40. I didn't watch it religiously. But, if I caught it on, I would watch it. Now if they would just bring back the good cartoons. Hannah Barbara cartoons like Thundar the Barbarian, lol
