Sambo, some of those people are swimming in debt. True happiness comes from within. A comfortable, successful life is relative to the individual. Have fun. Next time your are shopping at a place like that, remember those people can't shop close to home without truckers.
Don't get me wrong folks, im not actually depressed, and I havent really thought about that scenario since that day, was just in the moment of realization of a perception of my situation.
I'm not unhappy, actually, I have a lot to be thankful for. I'm alive, working, and I am debt free, other than my personal truck payment, which is fine. I understand that there is a lot more in life to be thankful for. I can't deny that there is a certain appeal to be living in a nice house in a nice neighborhood, and living in retirement with a certain sense of ease and comfort. I'm sure that's a dream most people have, but im not actually fretting over it.
I apologize if I made you all think this had me out of sorts, it doesn't. It was more of a realization that I may not be able to achieve a standard of life that I was seeing those people in that store, but, that is fine. Everyone has a different lot in life, and, as mentioned above, nice things doesn't necessarily mean happiness, if one is drowning in debt.
As I sit here in my truck once again waiting on my load to the north, I just have to say, congratulations David and patty..you have made it. Live life and live it well for those of us who may never experience a life of comfort, I salute you.....
