I heard from a friend of mine, who used to work as a trucker for a company hauling dump trailers with sand, gravel and other materials and he said that he was making like $1500 a day while hauling 6 loads a day to where ever he was supposed to go and he was home everyday.. So what are some good companies that haul dump trailers?

I am going to remain open minded about the freight that I will haul, but I really like the dump trailers and I want to know the pro's and the con's of hauling dump trailers. I have definitely read a lot of information on deciding which companies would be good to go with and I know that my friend said that you could be home daily making $1500 a day hauling 6 loads of sand, gravel and what not.

Thanks for all your help as always!

So, does your friend lead a lifestyle that indicates he is making 400,000 dollars a year?

Do the math Victor. Even really great truck drivers don't get near to that income level. One of the biggest stumbling blocks to success in this business is unrealistic expectations. If you start to believe stuff like what your friend is claiming, you will be sorely disappointed.

Ok I will dually note that! I had no idea that that was an unreasonable expectation but I am glad you told me. I will trust what you said! Do dump trailer companies pay employees well? Do you have any suggestions?

Pat is one of our members who has pulled some dump trailers. I'll have to let him respond to this. Hopefully he will see this in a day or two.

Sorry, Vic, no PM on TT. That's why I post a Spam proof email.

Most (not all) companies who run dump trailers are local. I'd start poking around your home residence to see what you come up with.

They may not be trucking companies per say, could be a quarry, construction, excavation, or building materials company.
