Yes New England is crazy expensive. Tennessee will be a bargain. It will of course depend on where you live but you can find very nice 3 bedroom homes in rural areas for $600-800 a month... maybe a bit less. Mobile homes are generally much cheaper. Metropolitan areas can be higher.. say Chattanooga Look Out Mtn area or parts of Nashville or even Memphis.
It's a good thing I like quiet country lol. I've been watching a show on YouTube called American truckers and they did anot episode recreating smokey and the bandits beer run. They not only beat the 28 movie hour mark with a run of 26.5 hours. They did it shorter stopping to see movie landmarks and interview previous actors including jerry reeds daughter. Oh and it was great when truckers they passed on the highway were quoting movie lines as fast as they could key their mics. They helped recreate the scene where bandit slipped in between the trucks as well (obviously as safe as they could) they used a recreated movie truck right down to the smallest detail for Snowmans k-whopper. And a trans am that bandit would be proud of. It was awesome.
Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville are a lot more expensive than where I live. Chattanooga and Clarksville (Where I live) have all sorts of areas ranging from cheap to arm and both legs. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge will cost you your first born. But if you get into semi rural TN then price tends to be fairly cheap. Except certain rural areas close to Nashville. There are entire areas with huge extravagant houses everywhere. There are other smaller cities/large towns that may be worth noting Jackson, TN is one. I am not sure what their housing market is like, but I am sure it is reasonable. Unfortunately, where I live the cost of Housing is going to keep rising. Clarksville is quickly becoming the new Murfreesboro or Lebanon. It is becoming the place where white collar workers that work in Nashville buy property to live. They can buy a brand new 4 or 5 bedroom, 2400+ sq ft home for the price a 20yr old 3 bedroom house in Nashville (in a decent neighborhood) would cost. That and Clarksville has finally grown beyond the necessity of the military to support it. A lot of larger corporations are seeing the relatively cheap land. As well as all of the financial incentitives Clarksville is offering them. Corporations such as Google are moving in, lol.
On a side note: TN does not have income tax. They get their money from sales and property taxes.
I know this is way off topic. Just trying to be helpful.
Drive Safe and God Speed
That sounda amazing no income tax although idk how thatd apply to myself as an otr driver if i were to live there
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Update on work, boss is trying to get me fired still. The good thing about that is if i do end up fired from them i can tell my fiance and her family that i have no choice to leave for trucking early lol

You pay income tax based on your residence. Where ever you say you live and can provide an address for; is the location that determines what you pay on income.

Oh sweet. Yeah im definitely calling that home.
You have me confused cause you said you make $275 per week, but get paid biweekly. So $400 clear per week after insurance would be more. What am I missing?
MO is really cheap too. I saw a NEW apartment 3 BDRM, 1.5 bath, including hot water, heat, electric, internet and cable for $725 per month. I paid $1200 for a one bedroom and none of that other stuff.
I stopped in a small small town in TN and they said the "luxury" apartments started at $400 but car payments were just as high.
The 275 was after tax I took my biweekly paycheck and cut in half to get my weekly lol. Sorry for the confusion rainy. My car payments up here is 325 a month because I got taken for a ride at the dealer. I'm used to high payments plus I'm notrying planning on getting a car after this job till maybe 5-10 years down the line. I should have a bit saved up for a decent down payment on a car. (Always dreamed having a Dodge challenger)
Wait rainy I'm confused at the 400 a week. Are you talking about prime training pay?
