So this is turning into a nightmare run for me. Bunk heater died, I got it fixed, then it died again. 2 degrees outside. Went to a hotel at midnight, fully intending to get on it today.

Left fairly early this morning, on I80, hoping to make it to Little America, WY before shutting down. All went well until I hit Cheyenne. From there to Laramie it was windy with blowing snow, slush and super truckers on the road. Down to 40 mph at times. Nothing about any of this on the weather in NE. As I was getting ready to get off at the Petro in Laramie I saw one of the light up signs that said: "High winds from Laramie to Rawlins. Blow over warning." That decided me right there.

Talked to a couple other drivers headed west and they are all shutting down too. To top it off, there's a winter storm warning and a rollover to the west. Guess I won't be making ANY money this week! But, hey, I'll be alive to not spend it!

Sounds like Wyoming alright! Glad you decided to shut down. Worth a pound of cure!

Talk to FM about getting a room at that hotel next to the Petro. See if Petro can fix heater.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Kanelin.

I drive across WY about 40 times per month and drove it all this week. 56 hours of work/driving in 4 days.

I just got home after driving from Utah to Denver this morning.

It was a tough week, for sure.

How may I help?

Damn. I was just at the Petro this morning.

I wish I had logged on earlier and seen your post before I left.

Haha, so was I MG. Spent the night in a hotel and decided to go this morning. Weather said wind was down and the snow was only gonna get worse. Made it to SLC no problem. Sounds like 25 down to Denver is gonna be a mess this weekend, tho. Normally I love the drive through WY, my kind of country. And the drive today wasn't too bad, between Rawlins and Utah, anyway 😆

Thanks for the help to both of you.
