Hey your not too heavy!

Your just too short for your weight.

I hope you get it all figured out. My in laws weren't very supportive either.

You can work as a carpenter or cement mason. And when it's raining or work is super slow you can borrow money from the dictator in law. Or you can always work a stable job with steady income.

It's interesting that he's not for it. They say the mellinials (spell check) are horrible for wanting 6 figure incomes.

All the saying about I'd rather my sister be a ... than a truck driver yada yada is no different than calling a carpenter a glorified laborer or a steamfitter a pipefitter with a cert...

Will you be leaving your fiancé in the uncomfortable environment? I don't know your situation... pops probably feels like your gonna leave her for a month at a time and no support.

Only leaving her for my training period. After that ill be picking her up or flying her out here to wherever i am lol.

You may want to make sure Prime will allow your fiancée a rider policy from day 1. Not saying they won't, but just check because many carriers (for good reason) require a waiting period on this (60-90 days). I am not going to tell you what you do, it's your life, but if you were to ask me, I would strongly suggest you give yourself a couple of months to get acclimated to driving solo with zero distractions before inviting her into your new world. Your priority must be total, laser focus on learning your job. Take it or leave it...even if Prime allows it from the get-go, I suggest you rethink this.

So last night I was riding along with my fiancee's parents ...

Yep. What's wrong with this sentence? They get you in their car and ambush you about your weight? I would have stepped out of that car at the first opportunity and called a cab the second THAT conversation started or at the very least, ceased speaking to them.

I'm with Rainy D. Screw them!

No one I'm related to outside my kids knows what I do. I'm not ashamed in the least; I'm very proud of this, actually, but I have no interest in hearing my dad's or my siblings' dumb a.. comments. I really couldn't care less what they think but they'll let me know anyway, if I tell them. Sorry you don't have the luxury of physical distance from them but that too, will change.

Do think hard on the advice you've been given by the other drivers above. These are good things to think about. Good luck, man.

Very good point. Although on the flip side it could help to have someone read you directions and even spot you on backing to make sure you don't hit anything. BUT we all know how relationships go...which means as soon as you argue...which is going to happen in a small living space...you could be mentality distracted and "zone out" then BOOM! Hit something.

Again this I think is an age thing. Younger people tend to romanticize life while older ones have lived it and think differently. Paul told me last night I'm too cynical.... Hmm maybe. But if I doubt and analyze everything, I have less problems in my life than some others lol.

I was thinking the same as you rainy. Shes always been my navigator. Plus weve been in arguements before on road trips. We have always had a rule that arguments are kept outside of anything requiring extreme attention. Aka navigating and driving. We have been gteat about it especially since after 3 hours or so we are happy and forget about the whole thing. (Only once it has resurfaced only because the topic came full circle a few months later lol) We have a gps as a backup incade she gets tired or she isnt feeling well either. Obviously ill need a truckers gps now but the point still stands. We put the tasks at hand first then emotions second almost 100% of the time.

Did not! I said you're a cynic, to which you replied you're a realist. I said that's what most cynics call themselves. Then I ceded you were probably right after all.
