I have always wanted to know what SEMI truck you truck drivers like the most and the reason behind it. I know there are a lot of opinions out there so let's see what truck gets the most likes! Let the opinions come in!

Also if you want go ahead and add the year and model of the truck you like in the discription! Thanks.

If I may..............

My most favorite truck I driven so far was the one I asked to be assigned to., It is an 07 Columbia, 14L Detroit. Loved the power of this thing! The short sleeper made it nice for backing and the only thing it can't pass is the truck stop. black freightliner and red Volvo <span class= bobtail sitting in parking lot" title="black freightliner and red Volvo bobtail sitting in parking lot">

And I have to give this old Pete an honorable mention, drove it for a week while the Freightliner was in the shop. This thing had a super 10 transmission and straight pipes and man was it LOUD! Made for a fun a trip! I have to say this is most INTERESTING truck I have driven, nice smooth ride too! black Peterbilt 379 fueling up at fuel island

And If I were to win the lottery or come into some kind of money I would definitely buy my own truck in cash! And if I were to do so I would have to pick up one of these beautiful, slime green 389's from Fitzgerald Gliders. You can get them with the big bull hauler pipes and my beloved Detroit 60! slime green 389 semi truck from Fitzgerald Gliders

Bobtail:

"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.

Stickers...the black Freightshaker is a sweet looking ride. I gotta agree, the "go lime" Pete is a serious head turner. Most of my upper body and outerware wardrobe is that color...LOL

Thanks for sharing the great photos.

Would this pic be close to how it looks?

Like this but a little more blue. Lol

This is a full size...the other you posted is a light weight. Look at the distance between the doors and the sleeoer window, plus the roof for LW is flat cause no passenger up there. I have the full size ;)

I noticed gliders were mentioned, i thought glider kits were banned from cali? As well as older model trucks without emission systems?

I am not entirely sure but I think anything that does not meet the 2000-2007 emissions requirement cannot run in California. Most gliders are built with rebuilt engines pre dating this emission laws so they do not have to have DEF systems. S long story short, yes, they probably are banned. At least cannot be registered in the state. Just don't have one break down on you the wrong side Nevada.

Oh ok. So if a glidee were ordered and a brand new engine and transmission were installed that should pass cali?

Can't order one with new drivetrain. It would defeat the purpose, and not save you any $$ (part of the purpose) over just buying a brand new truck.

The entire purpose of the Glider is to have a "pre-emission motor" (which are considered way more reliable - less plumbing and electronics to get screwed up).

It's the way you can get a brand new chassis and cab - and use an older drivetrain. Folks that already own pre-e trucks that are old and beat up - can do a re-fresh on their motor/trannie/rear and drop a new body onto it.

I was just trying to wonder how truckers would get a freightliner argosy and still be cali legal.

Wow a lot of reading to do! SO I like both the Freightliner and the Peterbilt but you may have already guessed my favorite is the Peterbilt!! I am a DIE HARD Peterbilt fan! But I do like the Freightliner just for the record! Wow. I will have to get a glider kit when I get settled into trucking cause that is a awesome kit right there my man. Actually the slime green truck is the very same picture that I have in my face book page The Truckers Friend profile picture. You all like the page, I built it just for all us future, present and pass truckers to honor those who have served for us over the years. smile.gif

I can't wait to see the rest of the favorites and G-Town where are your photo's of your Liked truckes?

Alright I will catchya later!
