If the question on the application asks specifically, have you ever been charged with a DUI , the answer would be yes. If it asks, Convicted, then no. Be aware that a Company can still see the charge, so I would be inclined to let them know about it anyways. Ask the Recruiter to give you specifics on how to handle the situation. Good Luck!
Driving Under the Influence
Having it expunged from criminal record doesn't matter since it will be on driving record. 3-5 years since incident is standard for most companies. Call the companies.
Yes, it's going to be tough unfortunately. I was charged and then got found not guilty for my instance. They couldn't use the breathalyzer due to the cop not being certified on the machine so they had to throw the breathalyzer out. Even though I wasn't convicted, companies still seen I was charged. I still had to go through the suspension process on my license and the interlock process therefore that alone was enough to raise red flags all over the board for a lot of companies. There are companies that hire with the DUI being 2 years old. However, your best bet is going to be when the age of it hits 5 years old. A lot more opportunities will open up for you at that 5 year mark. However, still send out as many applications as you can. It never hurts to try, persistence does pay off trust me! Companies may look at your case different than mine so it's worth a shot! Best of luck!
Driving Under the Influence
Security at my company basically told us in orientation to come to them and they would decide a case by case basis. When people tried to hide it, they looked like liars...which was worse.
Thrown out means not convicted..but still own up to it.

3 years ago I was charged with a DUI. The case was thrown out with no conviction but it's still on my record. Will I have a problem getting my cdl from a trucking company?
