Merry Christmas everyone!

I've been lurking on this site for a few months now. I've gotten a great appreciation for the hard, honest work that you all do. I am also no longer frustrated when I get "stuck" in traffic behind a big rig.

I hope you are all able to spend the holidays with somebody that you care about. If you find yourself working, I hope you are safe and warm.

Thank you for everything you do!

Happy Holidays! Colin K.

Well thank you ;). I'm safe and warm in my truck at our salt lake city terminal. them was greedy and decided to a stay out the whole month if December for an extra bonus pay ;)

I also think it allows drivers with kids a better chance to get home...although prime gave us a choice.

Merry Christmas to you as well ;)

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Had to throw iron 3 times on Friday, call receiver to make arrangements to deliver after hours (due to interstate being shut down for several hours). Receiver wanted my load as bad as I wanted it off my truck! Then I drove over 300 miles empty to get home for Christmas. It all worked out in the end.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas as well!

Interstate:

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

I didn't want to start a whole new thread on this since there are already a few but I did want to say THANK YOU to all of you drivers for all that you do. I've been enamored with trucking for many years now and, while I still have a few years before I can join you all on the road, I want you to know that there are four-wheelers out here that do appreciate and respect what you do.

I know sometimes truckers get a bad reputation for whatever reason but there are some of us out here that are grateful for all you do. I know you deal with a lot of BS out there and sometimes you miss your family and friends and home...

So Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and THANK YOU for the hard work you put in and the sacrifices you make to keep product moving! =) thank-you-2.gif

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices
