I second that. I too watched the Apex pretrip video. It's broken down to easy to follow segments.
But nothing compares to real practice. When you get to Springfield, there's a practice truck in the parking lot. In your free time, practice practice practice your pretrip. It becomes 2nd nature soon. AND I'm pretty sure that "they" are watching to see who is really trying, and who just goes back to their room for a nap. I could be wrong, but it sure seemed like I was noticed.
Also, make sure you study for the permit and know the material BEFORE YOU GET TO SPRINGFIELD! You will have no time to study once you get there. Your first couple of days will be filled doing other things. You will be sent to DMV on your 2nd day to test. Prime only wants you to test general knowledge, combination, air-brakes, and tanker endorsements. Focus on those only. If you wish, you can get your other endorsements in your home state when you eventually transfer your license back to your home state.
There's really not much to it beyond that. I'm still in the PSD phase myself, so I can't provide any TNT phase info yet.
Once again, study the HRTP. Don't be that guy who fails for lack of trying.
It's a cakewalk if you really want it. Good luck!!
