Thanks for the replies y'all, I will talk to my FM and see what he recommends, I haven't had to deal with it yet but was just curious. Thanks againsmile.gif

Thanks Quinton. If you have the time and are so inclined please let us know what they say...it's an interesting topic that can be problematic.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

So I asked my FM and he said "good question" but I haven't gotten a answer yet. I will ask again tomorrow. If he won't answer I will call corporate safety and see if they will answer.

Our safety department wants us to call them if we have snow buildup on top of a trailer, and they will figure out what we should do with it. I have yet to see one of these elusive "snow scrapers" anywhere.

I know the TA I park at will clear the snow off trailers, they charge a minimum of 1 hour labor. might be well worth the money to avoid a ticket or a claim if ice/snow/etc falls off and hits a car or person... just check with the shop at a truckstop if your parked at one when it snows... the worst they can say is that they don't do it...

Well I can't get anyone at JB Hunt to tell me what to do in this situation..........But whatever I think they are scared to give the wrong answer. I gather responses like "Let me check on that" but no one has ever gotten back to me. I will let y'all know if they do.

It's official you'll get cited in MN if its not cleared. Call your DM/FM etc. You're unsafe to roll.
