Try this little experiment. Head over to the nearest Truck Stop with a Diner and Lunch Counter. Make sure there are 3 or 4 crusty old Drivers sitting there. Start up a conversation something like this. " Hey, I heard on NPR this morning that.........( Fill in the blank)". Or try this one. "Boy, the Russians really screwed Hillary out of the last election didn't they!". You may want to order your lunch TO GO. I'm just sayin'!!

Music...most anything; mainstream rock, album rock, southern rock, all jazz, true reggae (not the over-produced, watered-down stuff), singer-songwriters like Hyatt, Cohen, Dylan,... etc. Not really into anything "poppy", top 40-ish, dance, or hip-hop.

As far as talk radio...occasionally sports-talk. Prefer music over "blah-blah-blah-blah" though...

As I still haven't been by the house to pick up my XM receiver I find that classic rock and country stations tend to carry/broadcast the furthest.

Audio books are nice on the long runs.

Audiobooks. Mostly stuff I've actually read before. I'm learning to love Heinlein again.

Yes! I learned how to read longer books with Robert A.!

Someone handed me a beat up copy of starship Troopers the day I left Ft. Benning. I was blown away when I found out it was written in the 50s.

IPod Classic 160GB, fully loaded. Everything from AC/DC to Zappa (and a wild variety in between). 100GB of music on my iPhone, and another 100 on my iPad. Between all my devices - my entire 350GB music collection.

When I do Sirius, it's The Patriot Channel or Road Dog Trucking - but it just hasn't been worth the monthly fee for just those channels.
