Wait! Did I read that correctly on their website?!? That $80 actually INCLUDES that ridiculous $20 access fee that they generally tack onto their advertised plan price? Sweet deal! I currently have T-Mobile which offers some really great stuff, but I already know it'll be a challenge with T-Mobile when I start OTR. Thanks for sharing this
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Yeah, I jumped all over that like a fat kid on a Ho-Ho. I've been paying $130 a month for a 30 GB plan. With all the assorted fees and phone payments, my monthly cell bill has been almost $190. Three cheers for having a single connection to the outside world.
I jumped on that at lunch today. I go from 12+2 GB to *unlimited for $15 less a month
I believe so. The Verizon agent said my bill should be about $110 per.month. I was paying $157 per month at at&t, and that was with a 16% discount. Actual price was probably closers to $165 per month.
From what i heard theres a soft cap on it then your data drops to 3g speeds
Awesome! I asked what carrier you had on the other thread but now I see. I'll probably jump on this too.
There is a 22 gig cap then you'll be prioritized when systems are busy is what I saw when I switched this a.m. I'm already a Verizon customer and was paying $104 and change for 4 gigs plus phone payment now my bill is $113 and change for the unlimited. I've been out here for over a year now and in my opinion no one can match Verizon's coverage, I had TMobile when I got out here and got Verizon a couple of months after getting out here,my co driver had Sprint and of the 3 Verizon could make calls where the other 2 couldn't. Don't get me wrong you'll find dead spots on Verizon but it's gonna be a heck of allot less places than the other 2.
Well, even if they do.have a soft cap, I'm sure it will be just like at&t, where once you use up the initial data, you'll be throttled based on necessity. If you are in a high network traffic area, you'll be slowed until you move to a new area, or the congestion clears up.
Having said that, the whole time I was at the Verizon store, I never once heard the agent say anything about possible throttling. He did say you get 10GB of Hotspot data, then that slows to 3g after that. However, even if it slows to 3g, that's not bad. At&t throttles you to 2g speeds, which is essentially worthless.
Here's what it says:
4G LTE only. We may manage your network usage to ensure a quality experience for all customers, and may prioritize your data behind some Verizon customers during times/places of network congestion. Not available for machine-to-machine services. Mobile hotspot/tethering reduced to 3G speeds after 10GB/month; domestic data roaming at 2G speeds; int'l data reduced to 2G speeds after 500MB/day. If more than 50% of your talk, text or data usage in a 60-day period is in Canada or Mexico, use of those services in those countries may be removed or limited. Discounts not available.
It doesn't actually mention anything about a 22GB soft cap, it just says in high congestion areas, your data may be prioritized behind other data, but not necessarily that you'll be throttled.
Inot my opinion, if they throttled you after 22GB, it would be some really shady marketing on behalf of Verizon, as, yes, it would be unlimited data, but would be no different than what att offers for one of their tiered packages.

Verizon now offering unlimited data service, unlimited talk and text for $80 per month.
You get unlimited 4g data to your phone, and a tablet if you choose, but you only get 10GB of Hotspot data, then it throttles down to 3g on the Hotspot, but you still get 4g data to your phone.
This is just what I was looking for as at&t only offers unlimited if you are a directv subscriber.
Now I can watch vudu and Amazon instant video to my hearts content on my tablet, and not worry about running out of data.
To add the tablet to your plan is an additional $10 per month, but, worth it since I'll be paying about $47 per month less than I was at at&t and will have all the data I need.
