Every time I see a truck driver with a bald head I immediately think “drone”

Everytime I see a guy with long hair I think "The 80's called...they want their style back..."

And this is coming from someone who had long hair back in the 80's metal days...

I've always had short hair due to a career with strict grooming standards. It's just now touching my ears and driving me nuts. I just haven't had time to get it cut. I like hair, at least as long as it stays brown, but starting to turn a bit. I never really paid much attention or thought about it till I read this. Roehl says it has to be neat and professional appearing. Kinda vague in that area. I do hate shaving though. Guess maybe time to see what color my beard will be as long as I keep it trimmed....

I sometimes wear a ballcap to create an artificial hairline. dancing.gif

Heh heh! Artificial hairline. I like that. I think I'll annex that saying. thank-you.gif

I agree with that sentiment if long hair is just worn loosely, but a ponytail is will never go out of style lol. dancing-dog.gif

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Just an update, Schneider recruiter told me that my DOT physical from a few months would be okay. I have to get drug tests done before I go to Fontana. I requested a starting date of December 3rd and she said that would be fine. Someone from the “medical division” is going to call me in about an hour. When I get the results from my drug tests recruiter told me to call her and she’d go over what I need to bring, hotel information, etc. Also, I can drive my car to Fontana which I was happy to hear.

I have butterflies already :-).

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Oops, just spoke to Schneider’s medical department and answered a bunch of questions. She scheduled me for Wednesday urine, hair follicle drug tests, and another DOT physical. It’s only about a mile-and-a-half from where I live. It’s called the “Concentra Medical Center”.

So you guys were right about about another DOT physical. Schneider’s paying for it. One step at a time. A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

Just an update. I completed my drug tests and physical today and submitted the drug test numbers to my recruiter. She promptly sent me an email welcoming me to Schneider and and an attachment with final instruction details to begin orientation on December 3rd at Fontana.

I can’t believe how smoothly this is going so far. Schneider is the only company I applied to and I heard back from my recruiter immediately. I’m really looking forward to this and settling into the pumpkin patch after orientation.

Thanks to everyone here for the moral support and spot-on information. I’m grateful.

I’ll try to keep you guys updated when I start orientation. I’m not sure if wi-fi is available at the Best Western I’ll be staying at, but if it is I’ll try to keep you updated.

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
