Just made a profile but been following this site for months. Just wanted to thank Brett and every other driver that has imparted their knowledge on here. It has been extremely helpful and appreciated. Nearly every question I had, had been asked and already answered, just took a little searching. Thank again Brett and everyone else.

Logan, we are glad to know you are here! Your profile says Company driver in training - where are you working at, and how's that training going?

I am with Swift actually. It's going really good too. I got extremely lucky with the mentor I got after hearing some horror stories about other people and there mentors. As far as the Academy went, it's a whole lot of information in a little time. But as long as you look it over and study a little each night it wasn't bad.

Hang in there and take in all the knowledge you can. Swift is a great place to get your start. Even if there are things you end up not being too wild about over there just remember to stick with it for one good solid year of safe driving. We stress this a lot around here, and many people just don't understand how important that is. It will be the key that opens up doors of opportunity for you in this industry.

I'm really glad to hear you got a good mentor, there are a lot of good ones out there, the problem with the bad ones is that they are the ones that we usually end up hearing about.

So far I have no complaints with Swift. But I know it's to come no job or company is perfect. But at this moment they have answered every question I have and have been willing to help whenever I have asked. I will definently be sticking around for a year because a year in the grand scheme of things isn't a long time. Hell a year ago I was working for the railroad and hadn't even thought about driving trucks but I'm having the time of my life doing it now and getting to see the country at 62mph. In 3 or 4 weeks I've been on the road I've already been places I never thought I would go.

Logan, it's a great life. You won't get rich, and you'll work real hard, but you will get a decent stable paycheck and you will get to see things that some people can only dream about. I love truck driving - it really is a lifestyle not just a job - and a really cool lifestyle.

Welcome aboard Logan! Glad you signed up and of course really glad the site has been helpful to ya.

Swift is indeed a great place to be. They have a ton of different opportunities and they're really good with new drivers. Shoot for that one year of safe driving and enjoy yourself along the way!
