Yeah, when WB 80 opened the other day (Friday) it was sunny through Rock Springs and NO ONE was chaining. It wasn't necessary. The frozen slush was incredibly bumpy.
It seemed like everyone on the road, including 4-wheel drivers had a bit of an attitude, like, "We've been cooped up too long, were going, no matter what."
In some areas, the road was actually clear of ice, snow, and was dry.
I don pants when the temperature gets to about -20'F or when I'm sick (December I had bronchitis). Otherwise, it's shorts most of the year.

Hah! I spent the night at our yard in Denver last night. Went to the east TA for a washout and reefer fuel before I snuggled in. It was packed at 1600. CB was interesting to say the least. And traffic was a real mess. You would think ppl from Colorado could handle a little snow...
