I recently Interviewed for a Local Driver/ Merchandiser job with Coca Cola in Tucson, AZ.( My Hometown) Passed my Drug Screen and Background check. Got a call this morning from the Driver Supervisor and was informed that I landed the job! WOO HOO! I will be driving the night shift, 1600-0200 delivering (and unloading/ stocking product), at Convenience Stores, Gas Stations, Walgreens, etc. Small Retailers. Will be in a Single Axle 7 speed Daycab, pulling a 32 foot trailer. Hourly+ commission after training with plenty of OT available. Time and a half over 40 hrs. per week. One of the advantages to an hourly gig! Start Training this Wednesday. I will post more details as they become available.

My father worked for Pepsi in the same role for 20+ years. Those cases of soda arent light! To this day he wishes he'd have hired on with a potato chip company instead!

All these physically fit guys that WANT TO unload and stack product.

Sorry - I am WAY TOO LAZY for that.

Keep us posted.

I spent many years in the Construction business. Really thought I wouldn't miss the Physical aspects of the job, but I do. I've gotten a bit soft over the last 10 months on the road. Looking forward to getting back in shape. This job also has the potential to move up the ladder into Management fairly quickly. I am looking forward to the Challenge.

Congrats, Tractor. Sometimes there's a merchandiser that handles the in-store work. Are you that lucky?

Yup......Truck it, Stock it, Stack it, Rotate it! Just hope that the Sales Guy/Gal has done their job, so I show up with the right amount of product and have room to put it!

You know, if you had used a small "c" in coke, that would have been real click bait!

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
