I wasn't arrested either it was a long form complaint this happened just a year ago. Honestly so much time passed by I thought I was in the clear. I am not though they have decided to push the charge. I'm a very organized person and am just trying to make a smooth transition from my current job. My dad has been a truck driver for 23 year's. He thinks I'll find a company that will take me. I'm just hoping he's correct in that assumption.

It could have been they thought i lied. I was never arrested or read my rights etc. But the very blue NJ put it in as an arrest. Prime asked for convictions over the last five years....so technically I wasn't lying either. The whole issue never even crossed my mind cause of years of restraining orders I had against her. In the end the police were calling me weekly to check on me cause of her threats.

My sis died 1/1/11....that whole incident took place 1/08 and I got to prime 9/15. So they were asking me about something 7 years prior. And I have nothing else on me...not even a parking ticket....and was a federal employee for 18 years. (I also happened to prove I was at work when I supposedly chased her....much different from actually being involved in something).

I do know people ago drive for prime with arrests...so realize most carriers will probably go case by case. Just be up front and answer the exact question they ask.

Number one rule of firearms safety; Treat every firearm as though it is loaded. Personally, I would wait and see what happens in court before letting a recruiter know that I might be charged.

Yeah I think I'll do that. I'm just curious if anyone has had any luck with Prime or any large company with a recent misdemeanor. I know Prime says "case by case". That's honestly the reason I'm thinking Prime I'm an idiot not a criminal. 🙈

I was at Prime just over a month ago, one. Thing they were very clear about was being upfront on your application. If you dont put it in the application they will find out. I saw alot of people get sent home for "forgetting about something" like i said just call them up and ask but as Rainy mentioned, Prime does not play around with Charges like that or pending charges even if its a misdemeanor. Anything under 5 years will be frowned upon.

I was in the process of buying it I didn't think it was hot. Generally they aren't when you're buying them lol. Guy didn't mention it....very depressing day. I'm trying to move on though.

1 - Treat Every Weapon As If It Were Loaded - EVERY GUN IS LOADED, until I verify for myself that it is not. I ALWAYS hand a gun to someone, with the slide locked open and make sure the mag is out, and the chamber is empty. When someone HANDS ME a gun - I ASK THEM to lock the drop the mag, and lock the slide back (or open the cylinder if it's a revolver) before I will touch it. As an armorer/gunsmith, Instructor and CCW daily carrier for decades - this one is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

2 - NEVER point a weapon at anything, unless you intend to kill/destroy it. See #1

3 - NEVER place your finger inside the trigger guard, until you have your target sighted in and are ready to shoot. See #1 & #2

4 - Always be aware of your surroundings, and what lies around, in front of and behind your target. See #1, #2 & #3

I won't even step onto a range with someone who cannot recite these from memory.

I make them watch this video: Life Safety Rules https://youtu.be/cKfwVgVGl4s and if they can't tell me the 4 rules, they watch it over and over until they can. Or I don't step on the range with them - PERIOD.

Bet you won't make that mistake again...

Rick
