Yeah man my technique really simplifies it. Just remember PMS for everything, ABC for hoses and air lines, and ICD for tires. Good luck on your test man! I think you got this. You never looked at an engine compartment before and you were already naming parts without me telling you what they were so you're definitely a cut above the rest.
Hey Daniel- what are PMS, ABC, IDC please?
Daniel B.'s Pretrip Inspection
Take a look at that link, it will go over that and so much more.
Very helpful diary, Daniel. I'm off to Orientation as a new driver for System Transport on Sunday.
Thanks!

Thank you sir, I wish you luck. After sinking easily over a hundred hours on this thread alone it has fallen into the back of the pages never to be read again. That's how it goes unfortunately and that's the main reason you don't see me writing long diaries anymore even though I can write a great one about fuel hauling and many other topics.
Thanks for the bump! Keep the shiny side up

Just keep posting about your local driving.
Breaking News
This thread of officially the longest thread in TruckingTruth history.
You guys have just witnessed history! I can't tell you how much fun this thread has been but damn, it hasn't been easy. I sacrificed sleep a few hundred times to make a post on here but if someone learned something from my Adventures then I'm pleased with it and that was my goal from the start when I created this thread many months ago.
I hope you've all enjoyed it!
I absolutely enjoy all these posts of yours. Except that I am up till the wee hours reading them, LOL
Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences
Daniel- really appreciate this, alot of gems, very helpful and love your optimism. Next- read Old School's wisdom.
Hey Jetguy, maybe I can save you some searching. Here's three links to my diaries when I took my children on the road with me.
Bol'shoye spasibo Daniel....this was so great a read over the past few days! Thanks for all the work you did back then that is still being a great help to new drivers as they get started. Stayed up many a night reading and soaking up the first hand experience that you've documented with so much detail.
Now I'm off to see if I can find out if you started one about the experience of being a trainer!
Much gratitude,
Mark O. ~MiNi-Me~

Glad you enjoyed it! Can't believe its been 7 years!
I could write one about being a trainer at OD but I am aware that our regional safety manager and a few others do occasionally go on this website so that kind of makes me a bit nervous as I can be a little too honest for my own good sometimes.

Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
