I am so happy right now I could just go bananas! Wait......I am ALREADY BANANAS. LOL

Anyway, it is NOW OFFICIAL. I leave for Cedar Rapids, IA to restart my journey to get my CDL back with CRST. See above post for info on the application process. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I can't believe this is happening. If it weren't for yall on this site here, I truly don't think I could do this. Thanks so much for your support and also helping motivate me to get back into this. As I have said before. This site is a GODSEND for new drivers and also drivers looking to restart their journeys like me. IF I can remember to, I am going to start a topic on here that will summarize my experience at CRST trucking school in Cedar Rapids, IA. This way if a new driver wants to consider them for their initial training or in my case, retraining, then they can have a first hand account of what to expect. NOW it is FINALLY time to start paying yall back for the help yall have given me. I just hope my CRST diary will do that for yall. I love yall and thanks so much again.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
