I would like to know your best experience and phone dock/mount solutions. What is your experience and what advantages have you found? What disadvantages? Does a charger need to be part of it or is there another and better solution?

I think I'd like one that connects to the windshield but holds the phone (with out shifting!) below the dash to my right and not obstructing indicators. Something sturdy that keep that phone in place.

My phone dock mount is the space between my heater controls and the switch to dump the air bags. Works great.

I got a Scoche Magic Mount at Walmart. The sucker plate really sticks to the window glass. Then there are four magnets on the other end that really stick to a metal plate you attach to your phone.

The phone has never come off, even on the bounciest part of I-10 in Louisiana.

I used Gorilla Duct Tape, the Camo colored stuff. Wrapped it over itself backwards, about 2 or 3 wraps, 2 fingers wide, sticky side out, put it on the face of the steering wheel. Stick your phone right on the steering wheel. Lasted about 5-7 days. Just replace the tape when it starts to lose it's stickyness. I learned it from my Mentor. Never came off, cheap, never had to reach for the phone, easy to use Pandora, I heart radio etc. I wish I had a picture for you. It works great! You want the tape to stay stuck to the steering wheel, not the phone!

I like the Steelie, dash mount. The vent mount is ok, but the dash mount is my favorite.

Seconding the Steelie dash mount. I've had it for close to a year, and it's never so much as budged, even running constantly across the cheese grater that is the freeway system in SoCal. It works so well, I had to struggle with it for 20 minutes to detach it when I switched trucks at the end of December. Those little 3M adhesive disks are crazy strong.

Got the Steelie too. Strong and adjustable. Very simple to use.

Not just ANY duct tape. The gorilla works the best. Give it a try. Worst comes to worst, you still have $5.00 worth of duct tape to use for 1000 other things!
