So much for an FM starting me out slow haha. Mine is throwing the miles at me, and I'm working the clock like a pro! (no bragging intended).

I totally expected short runs to start with. But I just logged 3792 miles last week. Not too shabby. Apparently we have a ton of flatbed freight to get moved, and not enough drivers to do it.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Ha! I have 10 hours each day to shower, eat, trip plan and sleep.plenty of time! smile.gif

I'm new so I'm wondering if he's just testing me, or if this is going to be typical. It was just one of those perfect weeks. I ran up to within 30 minutes of my 70 before taking a 34. And as it worked out, I had just enough time to squeeze in that 34 on the next load so that it didn't hurt production.

When I first met my FM , I told him he was going to love me. Now I'm trying to prove it

All of these great stories involving prime - It's a pity they rejected me due to gaps in work history. It's like the forum is trying to rub it in. :P

Are you enjoying yourself, or is it a lot like work?

Ryan no one is trying to rub it in. Prime wants to know the people coming in can stick with a commitment. Did you ever see a company that will hire a manager with a bachelor's degree in a subject that has nothing to do with the job? Its because it takes commitment and determination to get that degree. Prime's intent isnt to train you so you can work elsewhere.,. They want to train drivers and keep them. They work hard at treating us great and they expect us to work just as hard.

I love the company. Perhaps you can gain employment and appear consistent then apply later. Its worth it. And yes, its like getting paid for a vacation most of the time.

;)

Good luck on finding your company.

Testing or not, you're knocking it out of the park. Great job!

Yeah man you started at a good time, freight is picking back up now all that dumb snow is gone. If I could get those miles and be home Fridays I'd be rather happy.

Another kickass week! 3459 miles logged, and that's with a reset thrown in.

Yes I agree the miles are there in our flatbed division. The week I came off hometime I had 3600, followed by 3400 then 2900. I am on hometime now and will still have about 3100 this week. They run us hard. Glad to see you are doing good!
