I looked at it and there is no mention of the $3500.00. One of my classmates is being hired by Schneider. I informed him of my conversation with their recruiter so he called his recruiter to ask. The answer from the Schneider recruiter was, "don't worry about it". Hardly reassuring or complete. I am going to call them again to make sure this isn't a misunderstanding.

Ed...I think you should read this...I knew it sounded fishy..,

Ed there is a driver on the general forum with a handle of ChefsJK. He recently posted yesterday that he just completed Schneider training and was upgraded to solo status.

I suggest checking out his thread and inquire about the $3500...

ChefsJK thread is called "Officially In the Driver's Seat". Per my previous reply; ask the question...he'll give you a straight answer.

Schneider is a really good company...and certainly one you can easily commit to for a year or more.

That's the same thing that Jim Palmer tried to sell me on. "Signing a year long contract." I said "Thank you for your time, but I'm uncomfortable signing a year long contract for something I don't even know if I'm going to like."

I then took my CDL over to Prime, and have been pretty much a happy camper the whole time, with no contact, and no fees.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
