I know. Contract freight incorporated, which was bought by their largest customer Con-way, Inc. renamed to Con-Way Truckload. Bought by XPO Logistics, then sold to a Canadian company. Renamed back to CFI. Yep, full circle.

Almost as fun as the story of the first company Brett worked for. GTS (Gainey Transportation Services). GTS was a truckload carrier based in Michigan. It was bought along with 2 other companies, Super Service and a reefer company (whose name I don't remember), after falling on financial hardship. The owner of all 3 companies ran them into the ground and declared bankruptcy. All 3 were then bought by another party. The reefer portion was broke up and sold off. GTS was folded into Super Service. Since GTS had a bunch of newer trailers you now see Super Service trucks pulling GTS trailers. Which are now their old trailers. Still following?

Reefer:

A refrigerated trailer.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

OWI:

Operating While Intoxicated

Thanks. I leave here 10:55am tomorrow and arrive in Joplin at 3:10pm Thursday. It should be fun.

08:30 Ready to head to the bus station. Don't have to leave for the bus station until 09:30. I just hope I'm tired enough to sleep on the bus. smile.gif

4-19-17 13:35 On the bus. Greyhound seats are far from uncomfortable. I guess it's part of the price we pay.
